There are over 2 million women living with a condition called obstetric fistula worldwide. Impacting mainly those women who live in Africa, it develops after prolonged labour. The women lose their babies and due to the prolonged birth they end up incontinent of urine, faeces or both. Divorced by their husbands due to the smell and shunned by their communities, the women become outcasts and they are the invisible or neglected part of our society. Here is the story of these women, the crusade of one non-government organisation to stop this as well as the government plans to give both women and child the chance to live, free of shame. No longer neglected.
